.EU domain name registered after 15 Septemeber, 2014: Such a domain name will expire at the end of its registration term. It will have a Renewal Grace Period of 0 days and will be Deleted, if not Renewed during this period.

    Example:

If the domain name is Transferred on 20 December, 2014, it will expire on 20 September, 2016 and will be Deleted, if not Renewed till 15 October, 2016.

  • If a .EU domain is renewed anytime before the domain goes into quarantine, the expiry date will be extended by 1 year. However, if the domain is renewed/reactivated after it goes into quarantine, the expiry date will be extended by 2 years.

    Example:

If you register yourdomainname.eu on March 3, 2015, it will expire on March 3, 2016 and have a Renewal Grace Period of 0 days. If the domain is not renewed within the Renewal Grace Period, the domain will be deleted and be quarantined for a period of 40 days. If you restore (€80.00) the domain from quarantine, the tenure will be extended by an additional year, making the expiry date March 3, 2018. This happens because Eurid does not roll back the auto renewed date by a year once the domain is deleted.
